Yann Haute Patisserie: ****

Yann Haute Patisserie is located in a bright yellow house in Mission. Of course, Yann's is famous for its macarons in all kinds of flavours (French style macarons, of course). We've tried a bunch of them. and last time we were there, we got:

  • Black tea - a surprisingly good flavour

  • Coconut - delicious

  • Hazelnut - obviously to die for

  • Strawberry - eh
Ah, one day I will master the macaron... One day. I'm still cranky Nectar close before I could take the macaron class.

Of course, we also got pain au chocolat (aka chocolate croissants, delicious), which we love, almond croissants (also quite good), regular croissants (I love a good croissant with some raspberry jam... mmm), and, of course, the delicious baguette. Baguette slices dipped in olive oil and balsamic as a mid afternoon weekend snack... Ah, heaven.

As you can see, I love the place - just one word of warning, there is not such thing as coming into there for "just one" of anything (see above description of the one purchase). You will be leaving a minimum $40 lighter (that's what happens to us anyway).

So, to sum up, if you haven't gone yet, go!
